Nevada Old-Time Fiddlers’ Contest
The Nevada Old-Time Fiddlers’ Contest will be held May 16 & 17, 2025, at the Eureka Opera House in Eureka, Nevada. This event is one of many state and regional events held annually throughout the United States to preserve and promote the unique musical art form of old-time fiddling. Contestants have five minutes to perform three traditional dance tunes including a hoedown, a waltz, and a tune of choice such as a jig, reel, polka, two-step, etc. Friday’s entertainment features a “hot fiddle” contest, a twin fiddling exhibition, and the judges’ performance. Saturday’s competition begins at 9 a.m. on the opera house stage and runs all day.
